Bigdøy, May 2013

To get to Bygdøy peninsula from central Oslo, you can either take the car, bus or boat. On this cold but sunny day we decided to take the short, but very pleasant, boat trip. The boat takes about 20 minutes, and during this time you can enjoy a magnificent view of Oslo harbor as well as the surrounding areas.
Bygdøy has museums, restaurants and a very nice beach, so it's a very popular place no matter the weather.
We planned to spend our day getting to know the area and enjoying a picnic. For others, the sun, combined with the 16 degrees Celsius temperature was all about taking a swim.
I already knew that Norwegians have a different sensitivity to temperature. (As they say: "there is no bad weather, only bad gear"). But I guess in this case, swimming in 16 degrees, it's not about the gear.
